FAULT LINES

SALA 2022

Some new SAXMADE furniture was shown in South Australian Living Artists Festival (SALA) in August 2022, “FAULT LINES”, and won an award from the Unley Council. The show collaborated with Catherine Hewitt’s “Paperscapes”; with examples of her lights “populating” some SAXMADE pedestals.

The new designs were based on some previous calm and serine SAXMADE items and distorted these to reflect some of the angst of our present times. New furniture types included pedestals and wall shelves. The work continued the development of Tasmanian Oak veneered composite board in bonded, light weight, facetted construction.

COUCH MATES

SALA 2021

Saxon Rudduck's first solo show of original furniture design was held during the South Australian Living Artists Festival (SALA) in August 2021, "LOW TABLES aka COUCH MATES". The exhibition was held in the maker's workshop studio in Norwood, South Australia.

The items shown were coffee tables and side tables intended to support relaxed couch side living. These were in four styles, STEALTH, WINDOW, WAVE and FOLD. The items were practical and useful additions to modern living and had a calm and serine presence. The work continued the development of Tasmanian Oak veneered composite board in bonded, light weight, facetted construction informed by functional ergonomic design and aeronautical construction.
